I've been listening to Joan's music for awhile now my favorite song changes every once and awhile. Honestly, it ultimately depends on the type of mood I'm in or even sometimes the outfit I'm wearing. My favorite song currently is "Bad Reputation" which she released in 1980 an oldie but definitely a goodie. It is from her album Bad Reputation. I think what I like most about he song is the carefree rebellious attitude that Joan has. This song portrays and I don't care about anything type of vibe that's makes you feel superior to anything that might intimidate you. This song has a definite fast paste tempo. The constant guitar solos throughout the song make the dynamic of the song forte, which gives it a recognizable tune. The thing I love most about the song is the rebellious attitude she shows. While singing Joan's lyrics you definitely feel a sense of self-confidence and invincibility show through that you may have not seen in yourself before.
The lyrics reveal a strong sense of feminism, which Joan likes to incorporate in a lot of her songs. I honestly feel that when you listen to this song it can turn any bad day into I can accomplish anything kinda of day. Her music gives you that sense of if I put my my to something I can do it. I think that why I'm so infatuated with the way Joan Jett portrays herself. Yes, her lyrics are sometimes a little risqué and yes, she does wear a lot of leather but the pride she has for herself is definitely something to look up to! I personally think this song is about a girl who doesn't care about labels and what people deceive her as it's about what she thinks of herself, which in todays society is really important to remember.
