Mayer was not always musician he explored a couple different fields. You'd never guess it but he actually worked at a Modil gas station for 15 months. He made about $7 a month and saved majority of his earning and bought himself a 1996 Stevie Ray Vaughn Stratocaster.
As mentioned in earlier blogs, he's writes music, but he also has written his own volume in the Esquire. His column, written in 2004, was titled "Music Lessons with John Mayer.
Also in 2004, he appeared on the "Chappelle Show" with his own special. He continued his comedian career with a few stand up comedy shows in L.A. And New York.
Mayer has projected his some of his feelings onto his body through tattoos. He has a tattoo sleeve with "SRV" for Stevie Ray Vaughan.
He has also covered his arm with the word "Home" and "Life" on the back of his arm. On the front he has decorated his biceps with rectangles. Along with the rectangles, he has a dragon shape on his forearm. Finally he has the year he was born.
The ladies sure do love Mayer. What is it? His charm? His humor? His enchanting voice? No one will know but it's working. He has dated quite a few famous celebrities including Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, Katy Perry and even Taylor Swift.
After his break up with country/pop (who knows what she is now) Taylor Swift he wrote the song "dreaming with a broken heart" in which she responded with the song appropriately named "Dear John". Better believe Mayer didn't stop there! He responded her her response by releasing the song "paper doll".
Before the break up of Swift and Mayer, they wrote the song "Half of my Heart" and recorded it together.
Mayer has collaborated with many large music artists. He helped Kanye Westand Common on "Go" and was also featured in Kanye's "Bittersweet Party".
His raw talent is truly amazing, he is able to work with country pop singer and then the rock band Fall Out Boy. He made a cover of the song "Beat It" by the Fall Out Boys band.
Mayer suffered from panic attacks as a child which lead to his fear of one day going insane. To calm this fear Mayer takes Xanax. He continued having panic attacks even as an adult.
His parents at one point sent his to a psychiatrist because he was "too obsessed with his guitar".
He personally can relate to mental health disorders therefore wanted to help out. To do this he donated his song "Stay" to the Bring Change 2 Mind campaign.
