Maroon 5 Fun Facts

1. Bassist Mickey Madden is a vegan
2. Lead guitarist James Valentine was raised a Mormon
3. They will originally called Kara’s Flowers
4. The band appeared on 90210 when they were in their late teens and still going by the name Kara’s Flowers
5. In their music video “Sugar”, only the grooms knew that Maroon 5 was planning on crashing their wedding. So the band had permission to crash the weddings while still being a huge surprise.
6. “Harder to Breathe” from their debut album is usually assumed to be about Adam Levine’s ex-girlfriend, Jane. However, Adam wrote the song about the record label was smothering them and forcing them to put out an album.
7. Keyboardist and one of the original co-founders, Jesse Carmichael has a solo project. He was supposed to return after touring for Overexposed was finished. He has yet to return.
8. Adam Levine married model Behati Prinsloo on July 19, 2014.
9. No one but the band members knows the origin of their name. It actually causes more mystery and attention then if they actually exposed the origin.
10.  The music video for “animals” features Behati as Adam’s love interest.
11.  The band released their first album “Songs About Jane” in 2002 and their fifth album “V” in 2014.
12. Lead singer Adam Levine has been a coach on The Voice since 2011, the first and fifth season winners were from his team.
